2003‧Fall_Ready To Wear

The seductive spirit of film icons like Marilyn Monroe inspires the sensual, flirtatious fashions that are signature Dolce & Gabbana.

Contrast is key. Techno nylon pants are paired with romantic fringed embroidered flapper tops; floral silk flirty dresses are worn under oversized nylon parkas with brightly colored strap details. Optical prints in skirts, tops and dresses are contrasted with brightly colored fake fur jackets trimmed in sable or mink. Vivid primary colors punctuate the strong presence of black; a perfectly tailored canary yellow belted coat worn with solid black hose and optical print shoes is one of the highlights of this fresh use of color and contrast.

Pop color—acid yellow, orange, emerald and royal blue—flashed through the collection in shoes, bags and down jackets laden with utility straps and clips.

Color Analysis :
Instead of the rustic & countryside style of the collection, this year, the collection inspired from the sensual, flirtatious sprit of film icons like Marilyn Monroe and to show how woman confronts the rigors.

Black was the background hue that to mold the strong image of women. To contrast, designers used a variety of novel, optical colors such as white, silver, canary yellow, yellow, bright orange, hot citrus, bottle green, lavender and pink. These vivid primary colors punctuate and add spark to the strong presence of black.

With the idea of Pop art, the colors were in disorder, and to show the rose of women in rebellion against the rigors. ( Marilyn Monroe was famous for sex appeal, flirtatious… according to her life, she also put a lot of effort to become an enduring star and one of Hollywood’s most recognizable icons.)

Don’t forgot the exotic animal prints (Zebra, leopard and ocelot print) and hints of safari. That’s the duo’s favorite.
